I was cordoned off while trying to make parliament dynamic: Speaker Sapkota

Kathmandu: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that no one can break his loyalty. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) in Kathmandu on Sunday, Speaker Sapkota said that no one could stop him from working for the welfare of the country and the people.

At an all-party meeting in Baluwatar on Saturday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli accused the speaker of blocking the MCC resolution registered in the House. Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Sapkota said that no one can stop him from working independently even if it is not in the context of the MCC Bill. He said that even if someone tried to stop him from working, he would not stop.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Sapkota said that he had spent all his time making the parliament sovereign. Stating that the responsibility of the speaker will also come at a special time, Speaker Sapkota clarified that the decision will be taken in a way that the opinion of the people is valid.

Speaker Sapkata said that the siege was carried out while trying to make the federal parliament dynamic. He also said that they were trying to create confusion about the work of the parliament. He said that various comments have been made even now by laying siege. Sapkota said that no one can be subdued by being deceived in this way.

After being accused of obstructing the bill under consideration in the parliament, Speaker Sapkota has given an explanation without uttering the words "Prime Minister" and "MCC".
